The Course

According to chartered Society of Physiotherapists U. K. 1984 - Physiotherapy is the study of neurological, respiratory, cardio, thoracic, mussels, skeletal disorder and that of psycho Somatic origin and treatment by manual therapy, movements through instruments based on physical principles.

The increasing awareness of preventive measures in medicine and health education has projected physiotherapy to come for ward of modern science. The demand for physiotherapy services at the present day is project by the need of Rehabilitation Services to 2-3 % of population estimated to be having chronic disabilities and diseases. The magnitude of the need for these remains same for the last 30 years. Physiotherapist have significant role to play in reaching the goal of WHO-Health for all by 2000 A. D.

The Bachelor's Degree of Physiotherapy offered by Rajasthan Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), Udaipur is a four and half year course including of 6 months internship.

The Curriculum offered is one of the most update one with the introduction of subjects like Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Psychology, Medicine, Surgery, Pharmacology, Orthopedics, Neurology, Sociology.

On completion of the course, the graduate Physiotherapists can be placed as a lecturer, trainer, supervisor and a practitioner in any branch of rehabilitation medicine and Govt. and Private hospitals.

They can also pursue higher in Physiotherapy leading to M. P. T. with following specialization.

	Cardiothoracic Orthopedics Neurology Sports health Pediatrics
M. Tech.	Bio - Technology
M. S. P. T.	Sports Physiotherapy

* They have ample opportunity abroad also.

B. P. T. - Bachelor of Physiotherapy

Duration of the Course - The duration of the course shall be 4 -1/2 years including internship of six months.
