Course design/Formation

To start new degree/diploma and certificate courses and activities in the department the director and coordinator approached the concerning departments/institutions/Agencies and subject matter specialist in order to prepare and finalise the course content, syllabus & duration of the proposed courses as well as programmes, under the guidance of honorable Chancellor Prof. B.S. Garg. Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Lokesh Bhatt & Kul Pramukh Sh. Prafulla Nagar.

Workshop

In order to finalizes courses and Programmes for making rural technology more effective, & useful and to prepare trained man-power to meet the requirements of the community, the department organised one day workshop on 5th March, 2004. 35 eminent scientists, /subject matter specialists and representatives of concerning departments / NGOs were kind enough to grace and bless this workshop. Based on the fierce interaction some one year post graduate diploma, one year diploma, six months certificate courses and short term courses (of 3 to 15 days) were identified. The recommendations of the delegates gave right path for devising systematic programmes and activities as warranted by the present needs and aspirations of all clientele.  

Seminar

            A One day seminar on Organic Agriculture Management was organised on 21st June, 2004 at Sahitya Sansthan Seminar Hall, Shramjeevi College, Campus, Udaipur by the department. Overwhelming enthusiasm were shown by the delegates, related to NGOs, Agriculture University and Press & Media, Conclusions of the seminar were published in the Daily newspapers & broadcasted by ETV Rajasthan. The Seminar was Presided by Vice-Chancellor  Prof. Lokesh Bhatt.

 Training

In order to create awareness, improve skill and dissemination of the latest technology among rural farmers, farm women, youths and students, different training programmes were organised by the department. The aim was to bring improvement in their living conditions and economy so that they may join the main stream of the nation. The trainings undertaken by the department were :-

1.      Five days training programme on Food Processing and Preservation was organised with the help of Community Food & Nutrition extension unit, Ministry of women and child development, GOI Udaipur at Janta College, Dabok.

2.      One day training programme related to Soya Products was organised at Nandeshwardham, Nai, in Coolabration with Department of Food Processing & Engineering, CTAE, MPUAT, Udaipur.

3.      Five days training programme on Mushroom Production, processing and management was organised for members of yuva mandals with the help of Nehru Yuva Kendra, Ministry of Sports and youth affairs (GOI), Udaipur at Sabarmal Sedmal Janjati Krishi Vidhyalaya, Jhadol (Ph.), Udaipur.

4.      Five days training programme on Bio-diesel was organised at Sapetia village in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra Organisation, Ministry of sports and youth affairs (GOI), Udaipur.

5.      One day training for the volunteers of National Service Scheme (NSS) Udaipur School of Social Works was organised on Vermicompost at village Kharpeena.

6.      A training on Organic Vegetable Production was organised at agriculture farm, Janta College, Dabok.

7.      Under the Organic technology programme a training for preparing Vermi and E.M. compost was held at Janta College, Dabok.

8.      Ten days Youth Leadership Training Programme (YLTP) was organised for First batch of organic agriculture management certificate course with the help of Art of Living, at Tapovan Ashram, Nayakeda, Nai, Udaipur.

9.      One day training programme regarding personality development & Entrepreneurship  development was organized in collaboration with the Department of Science & Technology Govt. of Rajasthan, Udaipur, at Pratapnagar

10.  Eight days Youth Leadership Training Programme (YLTP) for second batch of organic agriculture management certificate course was organized with the help of the "Art of Living" at Tapovan Ashram Naya Kheda Nai, Udaipur 

centre for development of tribal women

Under its extension programme & to develop Pai Village as a model village the department of Rural Technology has adopted the Adivasi Mahila Sahkari Samiti, Pai.

The main objectives of this society are following :-

·         To generate awareness among tribal women.

·         To organize tribal women to use their leisure time in employment generation.

·          To educate them for their day to day working.

·         To have better family, health & financial management.

·         To create awareness towards child and women health care management

·         To acquaint rural women with improved agriculture technology.

This society was established and registered in the year 1983. At present 253 tribal women are its members.

The society members have been trained for following employment based programmes :-

1.      Silk Weaving

2.      Tailoring

3.      Kitchen gardening

4.      Preparation of Nutritious diet

5.      Mushroom Production & marketing

The society is also running the following programmes :-     

·         Janta Jal Yogna

·         Co-operative Farming

·         25 Poultry Farming

·         community Tube well

            The Department is also planning to start some training programms and short term courses for tribal women and youths as well as students of Xth standard 

Awareness Programmes
 

Various awareness programmes were also conducted by the department in order to enrich and provoke thinking regarding the current issues among the masses.

1.    A rally was organised for promotion and awareness towards organic product.

2.    Awareness compaign of 25 days at Udaipur, Chittorgarh, Rajasamand and Bhilwara district was organised for promoting organic inputs among dairy farmers with the help of Dairy Cooprative Units.

3.     Establishment of organic vegetable farm unit at Dabok.
