Sanskrit the spiritual language of India, unfortunately is the most neglected today. despite being the reservoir of the Ancient Knowledge encompassing literally all faculties, the language has become a casualty in the hands of Bureaucratic callousness. Thanks to the initiative of the UGC, the efforts are now being made to revive the glory of Sanskrit. The Sanskrit Department was started in 1976 ans since then marching ahead despite the heavy odds. Having functioned as an Under Graduate level department for years together, now the department, for last three years, has been enjoying the reputation of being a successful P.G. Department with qualitative research work in hand.

The department is willing to come up as the Sanskrit Deptt. and as the "Center of research for Kalidas studies", so as to serve the society with the real thoughtfulness and vision of our traditional heritage.
